The main methods of cheating with electronic scales are as follows:
1. The manufacturer pre-sets a cheating program at the factory. By entering a specific password, the electronic scale can be switched into cheating mode, and corresponding cheating operations can be performed via key presses. Once power is restored after a power outage or by pressing certain keys, the scale returns to normal operation. This cheating method is the most difficult to detect and prevent.
2. Install a wireless remote control. This cheating method requires opening the scale body and installing a wireless remote-control circuit board inside it. When engaging in fraud, operators can simply use the remote control to alter the electronic scale’s readings. This is a cheating technique that involves hardware modification, making it relatively easy to gather evidence. It’s also the most common type of cheating currently found in the market.
3. Replace the chip with a chip containing cheating software. Replace the original factory-programmed chip with a chip equipped with cheating functionality. Alternatively, without replacing the original chip, you can directly write the cheating software into the original chip via the serial interface—no need to open the casing, which makes the process faster and the cheating more discreet.
